It worked, and stance is very cool if you do it right. Just like everything else when it comes to car customization, there’s a cool way and a not cool way. The issue is that people refuse to except that that E30 is stanced because it doesn’t meet their exaggerated image of a slammed Civic with 12 degrees of negative camber. People who’s only information about stance and stance culture comes from hating it on the internet don’t even know what it is, and that’s what pisses me off. I don’t care if you don’t like something I like. I truly don’t. I do care, however, if you’re completely ignorant and refuse to accept that not every stanced car looks like this:

I’d have to agree with you 100% - stance is not my cup of tea, but when it’s done right it can look pretty cool. The problem is, most of what you see online are the fucking disasters of stance (like the photo you posted) and it's hard to develop any positive association with the "stancing" of vehicles.

I think the issue is that stanced cars only show up on non-stance related websites when they are hysterical or horrifying. If you scroll through the Stanceworks forums, which is a free-for-all of posts from all over the world, the disasters are actually not as common as you would think. They’re more common than the stuff that graces the Stanceworks front page, of course, but that’s common in any car scene.

There are some really funny disasters though. Like really, really funny.
